Even before Away From Her hit the theaters the buzz was all about Julie Christie’s performance as the Fiona, a woman slowly succumbing to Alzheimer’s Disease. As her husband comes to terms with putting her in a long term care facility she becomes increasingly attached to another patient. Julie Christie is probably best know for playing the role of Jackie in Shampoo in 1975 but she won an Oscar in 1965 for the movie Darling, in which she played a bored fashion model. Away From Her will be the Wednesday Night Movie at the DPL on Wed., October 3 at 6pm in the Library Lecture Hall. Admission is free.
