April Vacation Week

source for free entertainment
during April vacation week, April 23 - 30!

Saturday Matinee: Norm of the North, rated PG.  Saturday, April 23 at 2pm.

This animated comedy is great for the whole family!  When a real estate development invades his Arctic home, Norm and his three lemming friends head to New York City, where Norm becomes the mascot of the corporation in an attempt to bring it down from the inside and protect his homeland.

Fairy and Gnome Houses: Monday, April 25 from 2pm to 4pm
Dover Public Library Front Lawn

We will build houses for our woodland friends!  Weather permitting we will make our creations outside on the front lawn of the Library.  Using all natural materials, we will create one-of-a-kind dwellings for these magical creatures.  Don’t worry, if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we will build an indoor version.  Bring your creativity and any natural materials you would like.

Dover Shockwave Robotics Team: Tuesday, April 26 at 10am
Join us on Tuesday, April 26 at 10am to learn about the Dover Shockwave Robotics Team!  Find out how the team was started, how the members became involved and meet their robot.

Star Wars Marathon: Wednesday, April 27 from 1 to 8:30
Dover Public Library Lecture Hall

Don’t miss round 2 of our Stars Wars Marathon!  The Phantam Menace will be shown at 1pm, Attack of the Clones at 3:30, and Revenge of the Sith at 6pm.  Popcorn and refreshments will be served.

Mystic Drumz:  The Legend of Marshmallow Island: Thursday, April 28 at 2pm
Library Lecture Hall

This adventure in World Music blends multicultural music themes and interactive audience participation.  The show will feature incredible sound effects and unique instruments from around the globe, including the
Nigerian Talking Drum, Brazilian Quica, Vibraslap, Flextone, Chinese Gongs and more. Bring the whole family to laugh and learn together as we track down “The Legend of Marshmallow Island”.

Book Buddies:  Friday, April 29 from 2pm to 4pm
Children’s Room

Join us in the Children’s Room for a fun-filled afternoon of reading and crafts.  Big kids (middle school and up) will be matched with a little kid for reading!  Sign-up in the Children’s Room, call 516-6052 or visit the Library’s web site at library.dover.nh.gov.
