Fall Story Times

Story Times for 2014-15 are about to begin!  This year, there have been a few changes made to the program. The first session of story times will begin the week of September 8-12 and continue for 6 weeks instead of five.  The two "Toddler" groups are the only story times that require registration.  All 3-6 year old preschool groups are "drop-in" and you may choose which one you would like to attend each week.
Session I (September 8 - October 17):

Story Times for Toddlers (21-36 months)
Thursdays or Fridays, 9:30-10:15am

Toddlers (ages 21-36 months) and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend a 45-minute program which includes stories, finger plays, songs, puppets, and crafts.  These Story Times are intended for toddler and parent/caregiver to share together (not for families).  Registration is required.

Registration (limited to Dover Public Library card holders)
begins on Tuesday, September 2 and may be done in person or by phone. Sign-up begins at 9:00am (in person), and at 9:15am (by phone). Once a Story Time is filled (12 children with adults), we will add up to 5 names on the waiting list (children on the waiting lists will be signed up first for the following session).

Drop-in Preschool Story Times (3-6 year olds)
 Mondays, 1:30-2:15pm, Mondays, 7:00-7:45pm, or Tuesdays, 9:30-10:15am

Children ages 3-6 are invited to attend 45-minute programs which include stories, finger plays, songs and puppets.  Crafts and films are also offered several times each session.  Parents remain outside the story room.  No registration required (limited to Dover PublicLibrary card holders).

Drop-in Family Story Times

Wednesdays, 9:30-10:15am

Children of all ages are invited to attend a 45-minute program which includes stories, finger plays, songs and puppets, and crafts or films. Parents/caregivers remain with the children in the Lecture Hall for these groups. No registration required
(limited to Dover Public Library card holders).

New Service!

Museum Pass Reservation System

Starting on Tuesday, September 9th, Dover Public Library cardholders will be able to reserve any of the Library’s 16 museum passes online through our website!  This will be a great way for cardholders to see what we have to offer, and when a pass is available, without having to wait until the Library is open.  Links are provided to each institution’s website, so you can quickly see what is on exhibition for that day.   To reserve a pass you will need your Dover Public Library Card (in good standing: i.e. not owing us over $10), and your library PIN (which was originally set to the last 4 digits of your phone number).  Don’t worry if you are uncomfortable reserving online, you can always call us at 516-6050, or come in. We will gladly do it for you.  Passes will still be housed in the Children’s Room and at the Circulation Desk.
*Remember: your reservation is NOT your ticket into the museum.
You must visit the library in person to pick up the actual pass before you go!
