It looks like the film has done a beautiful job of capturing the book which may get you interested in reading more time travel themed novels. Linda Buckley-Archer, who has written an excellent time travel trilogy for teens about Gideon the Cutpurse and two 21st-century children lost in 1763, has an article in The Guardian recommending her favorites.
