I am reading The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley, which I highly recommend. I haven't come across such a spunky and intelligent heroine since Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird, and 11 year-old Flavia is quite funny to top it off. Anyway, I loved this quote from Flavia, which was a lovely antidote to current day news stories of libraries losing hours and being shut down en masse."As I stood outside in Cow Lane, it occurred to me that Heaven must be a place where the library is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. No... eight days a week."
