"Unconditional Healing" author at DPL on June 9

Author Darlene Capalbo will be speaking at the Dover Public Library on Tuesday June 9 at 7pm. She will share some insights revealed in her new book, “Unconditional Healing: The Value of Sustaining a High Vibrational Rate.” to help others understand and raise their vibrations. She will have signed copies of her books for sale.
Capalbo was raised Catholic, but as an adult, her faith took a backseat until she received a vision from the Blessed Mother Mary which gave her insights into the spirit world.  After the vision, Capalbo returned to her Catholic roots and also studied Pranic healing, the practice of using energies to heal, to learn how to live an enlightened life.
Filled with wisdom and reflections, “Unconditional Healing” offers practical advice for freeing readers’ minds of negativity and encouraging them to seek a higher power.  Readers will learn how their auras affect them and how raising their vibration rate can bring them close to truth and knowledge.
Darlene Capalbo is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and has a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy. She grew up in New Hampshire, currently lives in Newmarket, and works as a massage therapist. This program is free and open to all. For more information, call the Dover Public Library at 603-516-6050.

Borrow our "Historic New England" pass this summer!

Planning some summer vacation day trips? We recommend borrowing our “Historic New England” pass which lets 2 adults (and unlimited children under age 17) visit any of the organization’s 36 properties for FREE. This is one of our least-used museum passes, so we feel it deserves a little promotion!
Most of the properties are open June through October, but hours vary per site, so we advise checking the www.historicnewengland.org website before you go.
Many of their historic houses are located within a half-hour of Dover, so it’s a very short trip to visit the Sarah Orne Jewett House and Hamilton House in South Berwick or the Sayward-Wheeler house in York Harbor. In nearby Portsmouth, you can tour the Rundlet-May House, the Jackson House, or the Gov. John Langdon House and in Exeter, see the Gilman Garrison House.
Just over the border in Massachusetts are the Rocky Hill Meeting House in Amesbury, five historic houses in Newbury, one each in Essex, Gloucester and Saugus, and two properties in Salem. There are ten other Massachusetts sites a bit farther afield too.
Historic New England also has one house in Connecticut and four in Rhode Island for a total of 36 properties you can visit---for free!
You may reserve the Historic New England pass for your family at our website http://library.dover.nh.gov.  Just click on the portion of the blue bar that says “Reserve Museum Passes”. You’ll need your library card to make a reservation. Or you may call us at 603-516-6050 to reserve your day. Enjoy these properties, many in our own backyard, that make New England so unique!

"Soul Mothers' Wisdom: Seven Insights for the Single Mother": meet the author June 3, 7pm

At 7pm on Wednesday, June 3, clinical social worker Bette J. Freedson, who practices in
South Berwick, Maine, will discuss her new book, “Soul Mothers’ Wisdom: Seven Insights for the Single Mother” (Pearlsong Press) at the Dover Public Library.
Her book outlines seven critical tasks that will benefit both readers and their children. Bette draws from her own life experience, her years of acquired clinical knowledge, and from the inspiring stories of other single mothers. With courage and transparency, she shares her story of early loss, marital separation and divorce, the untimely death of her former husband, and various difficult phases of her single motherhood. Freedson chronicles the struggle of bringing up two daughters while developing a social work career, discovering her psychic intuition, and growing into a solid, authentic Self.
Absorbing the concepts in each of the book’s seven chapters, the reader will be guided toward the accomplishment of these tasks. The book also includes ideas for reflection, tips for understanding, and pages for journaling at the end of each chapter. “Soul Mothers’ Wisdom” is a unique personal journey to maturity, resilience, and self-strength, qualities identified by Freedson as constituting “True MRS.”

Bette J. Freedson is a graduate of Boston University’s School of Social Work and a consultant to MSAD 35. The author of many articles, she has been quoted in magazines such as “Working Mother” and “Women’s Day”. She is a “JustAskExpert” at education.com.   Famed pediatrician T. Berry Brazelton calls “Soul Mothers’ Wisdom”  a “fine book full of support for single parents who have to face the job of raising children alone,” and says, “I would advise all single mothers to read it.”  Signed copies of “Soul Mothers’ Wisdom” will be available for purchase at the program. For more information, call the Library at 603-516-6050.
