"My
earliest library memories were in the old Somersworth Public Library
which was then housed on the 2nd floor of the Chandler Building on
Orange Street. I spent many hours there in the windows of the round
turret where the picture books and children's seating (hard wooden
benches!) were located. My mother worked there too! I even remember my
library card number was C107 and the joy I felt in watching my card fill up with date stamps so that I'd have to be issued a new card!"
Join us every Thursday for the next few weeks as we share our first library memories. If you
have a memory to share feel free to message us or talk to staff at the
front desk! We'd love to share other's stories.
